LAWTON, OK (KSWO) –The driver wasn't hurt, but he was arrested after rolling his vehicle in front of Comanche County Memorial Hospital.
A black Ford Mustang was found on its roof just after 3 a.m. Thursday at Northwest 35th Street and Gore Boulevard. The driver, Ataul Azad, told police he wasn't hurt, but did say he was on his way home from a casino where he said he drank one beer. He told police he ran off the road, but he wasn't sure how the car ended up on its roof.
Officers could smell alcohol on Azad's breath and had him go through a Standardized Field Sobriety Test. He was arrested for DUI and taken to the police station. While at the station, Azad agreed to take a breath test where he blew a .14 and .15. The limit in Oklahoma is .08.
Azad was arraigned in Lawton City Court and pleaded guilty. He'll serve his 30-day sentence in the Lawton City Jail.
