LAWTON, OK (KSWO) -Graduating students from the Western Oklahoma State College of Nursing hosted an event at Cameron University in hopes of educating fellow students and the community about maintaining a healthy lifestyle.
The free community fair featured 26 vendors from various health and safety business. Free eye exams and health screenings were available, as well as informational booths. Graduating senior Elena Morita says helping the community is why she wants to become a nurse.
"A lot of students don't have health care, so they can come here for free eye exams for example. I think it is very important. That's why we want to be nurses, to promote health," Morita said.
Students in the 2016 graduating class were also on hand to discuss various health topics with people attending the fair.
