LAWTON, OK (KSWO) –Get ready for a chance of a few isolated storms Monday evening and overnight into Tuesday.
Your SkyWARN 7 meteorologists are tracking south winds that are bringing in moisture from the Gulf of Mexico. Temperatures are expected to be in the 70s across the viewing area Monday afternoon and a dry line will set up near western Texoma. With that, a few isolated severe storms are possible Monday evening into the overnight hours.
The best chance for storms looks to be along the Highway 81 corridor, but a stray severe storm is possible east of the dry line.
Large hail and damaging winds are the main threats, bet there's also a low tornado risk.
It's possible to get a break from the storms for a few hours before a widespread round of strong to severe storms come in from the south after midnight. The main risk for that round is large hail and damaging winds.
Tuesday morning will consist of morning storms with isolated rain chances Tuesday afternoon. More rain and storms are likely through Friday, but the severe threat will be much lower.
