STEM Saturday will give kids a glimpse of engineering

LAWTON, OK (KSWO) -Your child has a standing invitation to another event celebrating the world of math and science.

Saturday, March 12, the Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics Achievement Foundation will host "STEM Saturday."

Students from first through 12th grade will get a chance to join the program by building robots at the weekend event.

Eyo Effiong, founder of the STEM program in Lawton, says by giving students an in depth glimpse into the world of engineering and computer science in a fun way, their potential for greatness is endless.

"We reiterate that if you get on this path to become a computer scientist or engineer, it's amazing when you see their faces light up and they get excited about this project," Effiong said.

The event runs from 9 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. in the CETES Conference Center at Cameron University. Tuition for the event is $30, but there will be scholarships available.
