DUNCAN, OK (KSWO) -A pair of hitchhikers accused of beating and robbing a Stephens County man December 2015 will stand trial for the crime.
A judge ordered Terry Floyd to be bound over for trial, following a preliminary hearing in the case. Investigators say Floyd and a woman, Amy Monasco, beat a man who had given them a ride and took them to his house to let them sleep.
At one point during the night, the victim said one of them hit him over the head and stole his pickup, along with some of his belongings. The victim was able to drag himself to the roadside where a passerby saw him and called for help. Investigators were able to track the couple to a hotel near the Winstar Casino in Thackerville where they were arrested that same day.
Monasco was scheduled for a hearing Wednesday, but decided to waive that right. A judge will set trial dates for both of them at another hearing later in March.
Floyd is also facing a new charge after being caught with contraband in the county jail.
