LAWTON, OK (KSWO) -Members of the 75th Field Artillery Brigade swapped stories with veterans at the Lawton-Fort Sill VA Center Wednesday afternoon.
After hearing from veterans who served in World War II and the Vietnam War, the soldiers got to share their experiences with them.
Captain Thomas Burbank says the meeting was organized to give soldiers a better perspective of what the Army was like in the past. He says it was proof that throughout the many years of the Army, some things don't change.
"This is a great opportunity for them to gain some knowledge and to do some reflection and to really understand what the Army was all about back then and how they can apply it to the future going forward," Capt. Burbank said.
Burbank says the meeting was part of a week-long volunteer project. They've helped with landscaping, assisted with bingo games, a dementia walk and have also planned a trip to the Fort Sill Museum.
