LAWTON, OK (KSWO) – A Lawton father was arrested Monday afternoon after concerned adults noticed his 6-year-old son had numerous injuries.

The mindful adults spoke with officers about the abuse. The officers were told about numerous bruises and abrasions on the child’s neck, chest, arms and buttocks. They were told the injuries came from being whipped.

Robert Prichett, 22, was arrested and charged for child abuse.

Under the Oklahoma Child Abuse Reporting and Prevention Act, anyone that suspects a child is being abused or neglected should report it to the Department of Human Services.

If you believe a child is being abused or neglected, you can report it at any time to the DHS Abuse and Neglect Hotline at 1-800-522-3511.
