National Weather Service confirms Tulsa tornadoes

TULSA, OK (KSWO) - The National Weather Service says several tornadoes touched down in the Tulsa area Wednesday night.

A storm that swept through the area produced a tornado that touched down and lifted up multiple times. Damage reports include trees and power lines down, roofs ripped off and cars hit by trees and other debris. At least seven people were hurt, including one critically. The City of Tulsa had crews out overnight searching homes damaged in the storm. Several roads were closed and many people were left without power.

    Maj. Gen. Brian McKiernan, who was welcomed to Fort Sill FIRES Center of Excellence as commanding general in July of 2016, will be leaving. Maj. Gen. McKiernan has been selected to be the Deputy Commanding General of 18th Airborne Corps at Fort Bragg. Maj. Gen. Brian McKiernan has served as commanding general for the last year.

That video was caught by a now former correctional officer, who is facing possible jail time.
