LAWTON, OK (KSWO) – On Monday, the Lawton Public Schools bond oversight committee recommended to wait for the school board's decision on a bond issue to fund a new middle school before using $2.6 million remaining from a 2004 bond on something else. The committee meets twice a year to make sure bond money is used for what it is intended.

Eisenhower Middle School was next in line to get a new heating and air conditioning system. But Lawton Public Schools Superintendent Tom Deighan reminded the committee that the district is looking into putting forward a bond that would be used to replace the middle school, and that the funds could be better used at other schools which are next in line for roof repairs.
