DUNCAN, OK (KSWO) -A retired assistant pastor is out on bond after being accused of indecent acts with a child.

Jody Hilliard, 71, was booked into the Stephens County Jail Tuesday and was released after posting a $50,000 bond.

He's accused of molesting a 10-year-old girl during the summer of 2015, who was visiting from another state. Duncan police learned of the alleged abuse March 2016 after being contacted by the Department of Social Services where the girls lives. She told investigators that she knew Hilliard was not supposed to do bad things to her, but she was too afraid to tell anyone.

The girl told investigators Hilliard told her not to “do it” with anyone until she was married. She says he told her this during the ongoing sexual abuse.

Hilliard, a former assistant pastor, also spent several years working in education.

He's facing charges of lewd or indecent acts to a child under 12.
