LAWTON, OK (KSWO) –Two people were arrested for having meth after the car they were in was illegally parked.
Ricky Miller and Tomacita Portillo were arrested late Tuesday night after an officer saw a car pull into an alleyway at an angle between Northwest Dearborn Avenue and Euclid Avenue. A few people got into the car before the driver left the alleyway.
After being pulled over at Northwest 2nd Street and Ferris Avenue, the driver, Miller, told the officer "I was just picking up my friends." He also told the officer that he didn't have a license and the car was his sister's.
Dino, one of LPD's newest K9 officers, walked around the car and gave a positive hit on the presence of drugs.
Miller, Portillo and a third passenger were all removed from the vehicle and searched. Police found nothing on Miller or the third passenger, but police did find 1.3 grams of meth in Portillo's bra. A search of the vehicle yielded an additional 1.3 grams of meth separated into five bags, a glass pipe and other drug paraphernalia along with narcotic pain killers and antihistamine pills.
Miller was charged for possession of methamphetamine. His bond was set at $15,000.
Portillo was charged for possession of methamphetamine. Her bond was set at $10,000.
The third passenger was not arrested and the car was released to the owner.
