Cameron, Midwestern split first two games of a four-game series

LAWTON, Okla – The Cameron softball team split the first two games of a four-game series with Midwestern State on Friday. The Aggies dropped the opener 4-2, but bounced back in the second game with a 5-4 victory.

Cameron struck first in the first game thanks to a 1st inning solo home run from Breezy McComas. Midwestern State would answer in the 2nd with a two-run blast from Makenzi Harris. The Mustangs would get a little breathing room in the 7th thanks to a two-run double from Taylor Bermudes. McComas would add her second homer of the game in the bottom of the 7th, but it wasn’t enough.

Game two followed a similar script. Cameron jumped out to a 2-0 lead, only to see MSU tie it up, then take a 4-3 lead. But this time the Aggies were able to rally in their final at-bat. Sonora Zukerman’s RBI single gave CU the walk-off victory. Cameron is now 30-17 on the season.
