Lawton Leos clean up park

LAWTON, OK (KSWO) - The Lawton Leo Club met Friday to clean up around Liberty Lake.

This was one of the group's service projects, which group adviser Robert Phillips says they try to do once a month.

He says the idea came from their young members.

“The Leos came out here previously and saw that there was some trash around the park. So they came to us and said how about we do a community project where we go out and pick up trash,” Phillips said.

The trash bagged up by the Leo club will be picked up by the city of Lawton Saturday.

The organization was formed as an offshoot of the Lions Club in February 2015, with members 12 to 18 -years-old.
