LAWTON, OK (KSWO) - "Relay for Life" of Comanche County teamed up with Lawton’s Western Hills Christian Church to host the annual Cancers Survivors' Dinner Monday night. The event is put on to celebrate survivors as well as their caregivers. Survivors invited to attend were allowed to invite one caregiver each.

Co-chair of the Relay's Survivor team, Laura Price, says the fight against cancer is a personal one.

"Both of my parents have been diagnosed and survived, but we've also lost grandparents and uncles and aunts,” said Price. “So it is a very personal fight for me."

The annual relay for life will be held this Friday from 6 p.m. to midnight at Cameron University’s Bentley Gardens. So far, participants who've signed up for this year's event have raised over $49,000.
