Lawton man takes plea deal in sexual battery case

LAWTON, OK (KSWO) –A Lawton man, accused of forcing his way into his neighbor’s apartment and started touching her inappropriately, has taken a plea deal.

Hector Santos-Cruz pleaded guilty to sexual battery and indecent exposure Wednesday in exchange for a 10-year prison sentence, with seven of those years suspended, and a $1,000 fine.

The neighbor told police Santos-Cruz forced his way into her apartment in June 2015 and started touching her. She said she told him to stop and asked him to leave, but he didn’t leave until her boyfriend showed up.

Santos-Cruz will have to register as a sex offender after his release. His official sentencing hearing is set for April 27. He will be remanded to the custody of the Comanche County Detention Center pending deportation.
