LAWTON, OK (KSWO) –IAMNDN, the Southern Plains Tribal Health Board and the Vaska Theatre are coming together to host Communities Talk, a panel over underage drinking.
Communities Talk will feature IAMNDN's "Culture is prevention," Wichita Mountains Prevention Network's 'Too much to lose," ABEL Commission's "Non-traditional packaging of alcohol" and "Social host education," and Dr. Ponce-Garcia from Cameron University's "Resilience is adolescents and adults" and "How to be successful despite risks and setbacks."
The four panelists hope to change the attitude and perception of underage drinking in the Lawton area. Attendees will be able to make suggestions and voice their concerns.
Following the panel, the Vaska will show "Smoke Signals."
The panel and movie are completely free. It starts Saturday, April 23, at the Vaska theatre, 1902 NW Ferris Ave, from 2 p.m. until 3:30 p.m. The first 150 people will get a free small drink and popcorn. You must attend the panel in order to watch the movie.
