LAWTON, OK (KSWO) - The 3rd annual Open Streets Lawton-Fort Sill brought people out of their homes and into the streets on Saturday. The city had a nice, full day of fun and fit activities to do all along C Avenue. From 2nd to 5th Street, families could hula hoop, learn boxing, or yoga. They could even take an obstacle course.

Lawton police officers were out getting kids through a bike obstacle course and teaching them about bike safety.

"You know they may not get a chance to do it quite often at home, but maybe this is an opportunity that they can come out and actually get a chance to ride a bicycle,” said Lt. Justin Thorne. “Maybe they've never seen a police officer before. We just come out, and just have a good time and meet some of our local families."

Event organizers say the families can do many of these games and workouts at home and get active beyond what they did Saturday.
