Dog dies, woman shot in drive-by

LAWTON, OK (KSWO) –A dog died and a woman was shot during an early morning drive-by.

Police were called to a home near Southwest 7th Street and ‘I’ Avenue around 2:15 a.m. Tuesday to investigate a shots being fired. Once the officers got to the home, they found a 29-year-old woman that had been shot in the buttock. She was taken to a Lawton hospital where she was treated and released.

A crime scene was established and Criminal Investigation detectives were called to the scene. Detective learned the vehicle involved in the drive-by slowly drove by the home once before the shooting.

The woman who was shot had a dog that died in the crossfire.

A neighbor told police his home was shot a single time.

The vehicle involved in the drive-by is described as a four-door vehicle, it’s unknown how many people were in the vehicle at the time of the shooting.

Detectives are continuing to investigate.
