Storms topple power poles, trees

LAWTON, OK (KSWO) - Power poles snapped and trees toppled under Tuesday night's winds that gusted up to  65 mph in Lawton.

A handful of power poles toppled over in the Park Lane housing addition southeast of Southeast 45th Street and Lee Boulevard in Lawton. Firefighters were on hand, making sure downed lines didn't spark a fire.

On Northeast Rogers Lane, a fallen tree blocked the eastbound lane over Cache Creek.

PSO reported around 800 residents in Comanche County were without power around 10 p.m. Tuesday, down from more than 1,500 at the height of the storm.
