LAWTON, OK (KSWO) –Lawton police arrested a man days after he got out of jail for grand larceny when he was caught with a stolen A/C unit.

A witness called police after seeing a man trying to break into a home on the 500 block of Southwest Park Avenue around 9 a.m. Thursday. The caller then told dispatch the man was on a bike and he was towing an A/C unit. An officer caught up with the man, 26-year-old Tyson Morris, and asked what he was doing.

Morris answered, “Am I doing something wrong?” He then jumped back onto bike and tried to get away, with the stolen A/C unit in tow. The officer drove after him before the chase turned into a short foot pursuit when Morris ditched the bike.

Morris was arrested for resisting an officer and for grand larceny.

Police say they aren’t quite sure why Morris thought he could out pedal a patrol car.

Morris was let out of jail on April 22 following a conviction for possession of burglary tools.
