DUNCAN, OK (KSWO) -Attorneys from across the state took part in the annual Law Day luncheon in Duncan.
This year's theme was 'Judges, juries and justice: The Constitution and the rights of the accused.' The event was to celebrate the Constitution and to let the public know just how much lawyers appreciate them as jurors.
The president of the Oklahoma Bar Association, Garvin Isaacs, told the crowd that appreciation is an important piece of saving the American justice system.
"The most important thing today is that we all realize that there are attempts to take away the rights of trial by jury and limit access to the courts and we've got to stop this," Isaacs said.
There were 35 lawyers in attendance at the luncheon, which was held at the Duncan Golf and Tennis Club. The Stephens County Bar Association hosted the event.
