FREDERICK, OK (KSWO) -The City of Frederick recently purchased a new brush pumper truck for the Frederick Fire Department.

The community pitched in to help raise the money for the fire fighters' truck by holding fundraisers and raffles. Captain Justin Green says this new piece of equipment is only going to help them be better prepared.

"It's going to benefit in the area of rapid response to grass fires and having the reliability to get out there and take care of what we need to get taken care of," Capt. Green said.

The new, 600-gallon tank truck is replacing the old '73 model brush pumper that was said to be unreliable, making it too difficult to do their job and be first on the scene.
