DUNCAN, OK (KSWO) - Children enrolled in a Duncan after-school program showed their artistic abilities during an art show Tuesday night.
Students from Duncan elementary schools had their artwork displayed at the Chisholm Trail Arts Council, an opportunity normally afforded to adult artists. This art show is the culmination of a year's worth of projects.
One surprised mother was excited to see her son's work, one of many projects he had worked on over the course of the year.
"I didn't even know he had anything in the art show until I got here, so he kind of surprised mom and dad both with the artwork that he did," said Chasity Bowles, mother. "I'm very proud of him for doing a great job. I can't do half of what he does."
Gabriel's House is available at Emerson, Will Rogers and Woodrow Wilson elementary schools in Duncan, and offers enrichment programs and tutoring for at-risk students.
