DUNCAN, OK (KSWO) -The new regional health director of the Stephens County Health Department is unveiling her plans for the agency.
"The health department will continue being a leader in community health and working with our partners to address any community behavioral health changes issues, getting the public to eat healthier. We definitely want to make sure that we're meeting the needs of the public," said Mendy Spohn, the new director.
Wednesday was Spohn's first meeting with the Pathways to a Healthy Stephens County board of directors. Spohn was named interim director of the health department earlier this year after its former director, Mike Melton, retired after 20 years on the job.
Spohn brings with her a wealth of experience; serving as administrator of the Carter County Health Department for 15 years. She also spent a number of years working for the state.
