MEDICINE PARK, OK (KSWO) - A head-on collision killed two people on Highway 58 in Medicine Park Thursday.

Medicine Park Police Chief Tom Adrahtas says the crash happened when the driver of a northbound pickup on Highway 58, about a half mile north of 49 drifted into the southbound lanes.

The truck collided head-on with a van.

When emergency responders arrived, the truck was fully engulfed with the driver trapped inside.

Police say a third vehicle, with four people inside was not able to stop in time and collided into the wreckage.

They got out and tried to free the driver from the burning truck before it became engulfed but were unsuccessful.

Both drivers from the initial collision were killed.  They have only been identified as men.
