Duncan hosting rodeo this weekend

DUNCAN, OK (KSWO) - There will be something for all rodeo fans this weekend at the Chisholm Trail Stampede PRCA Rodeo in Stephens County.

Tonight the Chisholm Trail Stampede PRCA held a reception for the sponsors of this weekend's event.

This will be the 27th year for the rodeo.

Over 270 cowboys are set to compete in calf roping, steer wrestling and bull riding among other competitions.

Chairman of the rodeo Barbara Davis says the event offers locals a chance to cheer on their favorite cowboys.

"It's entertainment number one, and they can see their relatives perform in their categories whether it's calf roping, bull riding, etc., and watch them go on and maybe go to the NFR and win some big bucks," Davis said.

Tickets are $12 at the gate. Kids 12 and under get in for $5.

Vendors and concession will be available at the rodeo.
