ELGIN, OK (KSWO) -The 12th annual Crawds ‘n Rods fundraiser in Elgin is set to kick off Saturday, May 14, and all of the money will be used to help children.

"We like to do a big fire prevention program where we go to school and teach kids about fire prevention and it costs us about $10,000 to $15,000 a year, so that's why we invented this and why we do it," said Elgin Fire Chief Mike Baker.

The event is put on by the Elgin Fire Department and it features a car show, an all-you-can-eat crawfish boil, a carnival, a burnout contest, live music and much more. They'll even be giving away a 1969 Camaro at the event.

The event will be going on rain or shine and runs from 10 a.m. until 7 p.m.
