Oklahoma State Media & Fan Appreciation Day

STILLWATER, OK (KSWO) – Oklahoma State hosted their media day for the football team at Gallagher-Iba Arena Saturday.

The Cowboys return one of the Big 12's most prolific offenses, but defensively there are some holes to fill, especially at the defensive end position where the Pokes have to replace the conference's Defensive Player of the Year Emmanuel Ogbah and multi-year starter Jimmy Bean. A group of redshirt sophomores, led by Jordan Brailford and Jarell Owens, figure to get the nod. Brailford says they don't feel any added pressure having to fill the shoes of one of the best d-linemen is program history.

“I really don't think we have any pressure besides the pressure we put on ourselves to be the best that we can,” states Brailford. “We have a very tight knit group of ends coming in all the same year. We try to push each other. Keep the outside outside. We push each other to be the best we can individually.”

“We like Jordan and Jarell, the young linemen that we have. They're active and athletic. Their bodies have changed. Their attitudes are good. You know, it may be halfway through the season before we can see those guys show up as much as we want them to. But they're still young, we like the future,” says OSU Head Coach Mike Gundy.

Oklahoma State also held its Fan Appreciation Day. Cowboy fans packed the concourses of Gallagher-Iba Arena to get autographs from their favorite OSU players and coaches. Folks from all over the state, including Lawton, made the trip to interact with the likes of Mason Rudolph and Barry J. Sanders.

Thomas Saunders states, “That's what it's all about right there is watching the young man get the ball signed by all these guys. And these guys giving him little ‘atta boys’ and ‘thanks for coming’ and stuff like that. It means something to the players also.”
