Ric Flair returns to Southwest Oklahoma

DEVOL, OK (KSWO) - Comanche Red River Casino hosted a meet and greet event with famed wrestler Ric Flair for fans in Southwest Oklahoma. Hundreds of people crowded the place for an opportunity to meet the WWE Hall of Famer. Flair possesses a special affinity for this part of the state given the fact he wrestled here numerous times in his career.

“I wrestled in Lawton and all over this part of the country in the 80's like once a month, and the 90's a little bit. But I haven't been this way in about five or six years. So it's great,” says Flair. “Always nice to interact with the fans and they're so respectful. They remember the good ol' days, so that works for me. It's very rewarding for me to meet all the people and have a cross demographic appeal. And it's funny to see a five-year-old kid wearing my robe and that, but I get it because everybody likes...what's old is new now. So it's a great feeling for me.”

Since the 1970's, the name Ric Flair has been one of the most recognizable names in the sport of wrestling. A 16-time World Heavyweight Champion, Flair has made his name known with flashy showmanship, in-ring antics, and signature WOOO! Flair retired from the sport of wrestling in 2008.
