GERONIMO, OK (KSWO) – The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation has identified a baby who was found dead inside a hot vehicle Tuesday night.

Agents say Mame Neta Attocknie was three months old. She was found unconscious in her car seat in the back seat of a vehicle in a Dollar General parking lot in Geronimo. Authorities believe she was left in the vehicle for nine hours.

Agents say the child was in the custody of foster parents. The foster father failed to drop her off at daycare Tuesday morning after taking his son to school. Authorities say the father then returned home and went to sleep because he had worked a night shift.

When the foster mother got off work at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, she learned that the baby was not in daycare. She then called her husband to check on the child. The foster father sent his teenage son to the Dollar General in the foster father’s vehicle. Both parents rushed to the scene and found the child inside and called for emergency help.

OSBI special agents spent the night interviewing foster family members and processing the vehicle.  OSBI has not made an arrest at this time.
