ALTUS, OK (KSWO) - The churches in Altus surrounded their city in prayer on Saturday with an annual Prayer Walk.

Each church was assigned to a mile around the city to walk in the morning. The city is about 19 miles around, and the churches covered those miles.

Then they met up at Martin Luther King and Joy Street where they walked together to city hall and then to the Jackson County court house. The theme of the walk this year is 'An Appeal to Heaven.’ Many walkers carried flags with that quote on them.
