COMANCHE COUNTY, OK (KSWO)-Former first assistant district attorney for Comanche County Irma Newburn slipped into her new position.

Swearing Newburn Friday was former Comanche County District Judge David Lewis of the Oklahoma Court of Criminal Appeals. He was on hand along with a room full of people to congratulate her as she transitions into her new role. Newburn has served as a prosecutor for the past eight years. She's also worked as a deputy court clerk in Lawton, and as a clerk for the Lawton police department.
Newburn will take over for Judge Keith Aycock, who retired back in July.
