Lawton High bounces back with 26-14 win over No. 5 Putnam City

LAWTON, Okla (KSWO) - Lawton High bounced back from its first district loss since 2012, by beating No. 5 Putnam City 26-14 on Friday night. The Wolverines dominated the 1st half, racing out to a 20-0 lead.

With senior quarterback Zack Hanna out with an injury, Lawton High turned to sophomore Kyler Jenderseck. Jenderseck put the Wolverines on the board first with a 1-yard touchdown on a QB sneak.

Lawton High would add to that lead in the 2nd quarter. A Putnam City muffed punt gave the Wolverines a short field and they took advantage as Tre Curry found the end zone on a 22-yard TD scamper. The Wolverines would add to that lead later in the half on a 56-yard touchdown run from Jayquan Lincoln.

The Wolverines are now 2-3, 1-1 in 6AII-2. They'll head to Stillwater in Week 6.
