Stephens county AFR donates to local schools

DUNCAN, OK (KSWO)- A local organization is giving back to help better local education.

Monday, the Stephens County chapter of American Farmers and Ranchers Insurance presented a check to seven Stephens County school representatives.

The chapter donated $1 for every student at the schools. That’s worth a total sum of $8,039.00.

The chapter president, Bobby Bess, said he knows how budget cuts are affecting education.
He said being able to present this check to school officials was 'an honor'.
He said, “Our kids are our future. We need to help them as much as we can. We need to help our school system as much as we can”.

Bess said the chapter raised the donation money through their membership fees.

School officials say they will use the money to best fit the students' need.
