Lawton Facebook page names best local businesses

LAWTON, OK (KSWO)- The creators of a community Facebook group called the Lawton Grapevine, recognized the winners of their online poll to find the best Lawton businesses at a ceremony Monday.

The group had 100 categories to vote on, featuring virtually every type of business imaginable in the city. Organizers said there were more than 90,000 votes cast during their week-long contest.

Lawton Grapevine administrator Breigh Jones said, "A lot of that came from the Lawton Grapevine. People ask all the time, 'where is the best place to go for such and such?' So, this was a time for us to really narrow down who's the best."

The Grapevine said the voting process overwhelmed their site, with over 30,000 unique users and more than 140,000 visits.

You can find a full list of the winners on the Lawton Grapevine’s Facebook page.
