First responders honored at rodeo

DUNCAN, OK (KSWO) - First responders were honored at the RAM Prairie Circuit Finals Rodeo on Saturday night in Duncan.

On the final night of the rodeo, officials invited law enforcement, fire fighters, EMTs, and troopers for a flag presentation. The American flag covered the arena.

A rodeo chairperson says in Duncan, first responders deserved this.

Especially after their actions this summer in looking for Damion Davidson, the little boy went missing and his body later found.

"They worked themselves silly looking for a young man that got lost, and unfortunately didn't survive," said Joe Henderson, Committee Chairperson for RAM Prairie Circuit Rodeo. "These people have learned to work really, really well together. They're a vital part of our community. They help us do what we do. We felt like it was just positive to get them in the arena and recognize the efforts that they put out."

Organizers say they try to find something positive for their flag presentation every year. They say they want to have a Back the Blue night every year they have their rodeo.
