LAWTON, OK (KSWO) - House District 64 candidate Jacobi Crowley, a Democrat, says education is the top priority in his campaign.

Crowley is a political newcomer, and at 24 years old, is one of the youngest candidates in the state.  He was unopposed for the Democratic nomination and believes that he can provide the citizens of Lawton a fresh look at some of the problems the state is facing.
Crowley is a teacher in the Lawton school district, and sees firsthand the impact that the funding crisis has had on the classroom.

Providing more funding towards education and also retaining teachers. A lot of teachers are not willing to stay here in the city of Lawton, also in the state of Oklahoma because we pay them so low and at the end of the day we are just trying to provide a better opportunity for our kids”, said Crowley.

We have waited long enough we have tried one side and it did not work, let’s try something different and we are giving the best opportunity  for our state to move forward”, said Crowley.

We reached out to Republican nominee Rande Worthen to give him the opportunity to deliver his message to voters.  Worthen said he was appreciative for the chance, but declined the interview.
The candidates are running for the seat previously held by Representative Ann Coody, who has reached her term limit.
