LAWTON, OK (KSWO) -We've been profiling our local candidates running in several area elections...and tonight we're taking a look at the race for Comanche County Commissioner District 2.

Democrat Incumbent Johnny Owens is running against Republican Richard Strickland.

This is Owens' second run for the seat and says he's accomplished a lot throughout his four-year term, but there is still more he wants to improve and more upgrades he'd like to see at the courthouse.

One of his goals is to install cameras throughout the building for security purposes and upgrade the elevators. Owens said he's also working on getting a chiller for the courthouse.

The courthouse is either you have been burning up or freezing to death. We got it pretty much regulated so this next term the first of the year we are going to put in a new chiller and that will solve our problem, said Owens.

I want people to know what's going on at the courthouse and it is very important that every office gets along with each other and I feel like right now every elected official and office with employees that everyone gets along really well and I look forward to that, said Owens

We reached out to Republican Richard Strickland to give him the opportunity to deliver his message to voters. Strickland said he was thankful  for the chance, but declined the interview.
