DUNCAN, OK (KSWO) -The Duncan community paid their respects and honored veterans Saturday morning, who served our country with a Veterans Parade Downtown.
Duncan Veterans of Foreign Wars, the American Legion, the Disabled American Veterans and Main Street Duncan hosted the annual parade. This year, they specifically honored Korean Veterans. Motorcycle clubs, boy scouts and car clubs participated in the parade. Daniel Leal, a Vietnam Veteran says it's rewarding to have the community's support.
"The recognition we get, not personally, but as a whole as veterans, it does a lot to help them and boost their moral because many of them weren't recognized when they came home, so that's good for me," said Leal.
For the veterans and their families who walked in the parade, it ended with a lunch at the Duncan Veterans of Foreign Wars post.
