UPDATED: Chattanooga Police Chief involved in head-on collision

CHATTANOOGA, Ok (KSWO) - According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, Highway 36 was closed in both directions in the city of Chattanooga due to a head-on collision involving the police chief. The highway has since re-opened.

7News has learned that the police chief was traveling on Highway 36 when an oncoming vehicle swerved and hit him head on. The police chief was transported to the hospital but his exact injuries are not known at this time. According to radio traffic he was transported "non-emergency status."

The driver of the vehicle was arrested at the scene for suspicion of DUI and has been transported to Comanche County Detention Center.
