FORT SILL, OK (KSWO) - A group of instructors on Fort Sill were recognized for their hard work in educating soldiers.

Eight instructors were given instructor of the year awards during a ceremony 3 pm Thursday at the Kerwin Auditorium.

Those honored included officers from the Field Artillery and Defense Artillery, and one civilian educator:

Capt. Chance L. Smith

Capt. Michael J. Wish,

Chief Warrant Officer 3 Kristy A. Fair

Staff Sgt. Derek J. Hendrickson

Staff Sgt. Tansey L. Frazier

Staff Sgt. Brandon L. Schroeder

Staff Sgt. Travis M. Magliolo

Mr. Alvin C. Kennedy

Since 1988, Fort Sill has recognized and honored its instructors that go above and beyond for the sake of their soldiers.

Award recipient Staff Sgt. Tansey Frazier says her work brings her as much pride as any award.

“When I see leaders, leading people and able to bring out different sides of them to make the Army a better place,” Frazier said, “it just brings me a huge sense of pride."
