Youth Services for Stephens county holds special send-off party for one of their own.

LAWTON, OK (KSWO)-Youth Services for Stephens county held a special send-off party for one of their own.

 The nonprofit held a goodbye ceremony for John Hurdt, who will be stepping down from his position as executive director.

Hurdt has been with Youth Services for more than 30 years, and under his direction the organization has done a lot of good for the community.

Youth Services runs the Bill Phelps and Elaine Jones Youth Shelter, the Community Intervention Center and provides a number of mental health and substance abuse services.

Hurdt says he's been honored to work with the group to help better the lives of residents in Stephens County and says he plans to still stay active in the community  even after he retires.
