Car catches fire in Lawton

LAWTON (KSWO) - A fire is out after a car burst into flames in a Lawton neighborhood.
It happened on Southwest Cornell Avenue, behind the Wayne's Drive-Inn on Sheridan Road.
It was reported just before 4:30 Friday morning.
According to scanner traffic, the driver of the car told police when he started the car, he saw flames and then got out.
Fire crews looked over the car's engine to make sure there were no more problems.

    Pawhuska Public Schools remain closed today due to concerns about methane leaking from a geothermal well at the school softball field. A 30-day State of Emergency was issued by the governor to allow for state assistance. Last night, tensions ran high at a town hall meeting was held to talk about the plan for dealing with the leaking well.

    Some seismologists say Oklahoma could see a 5.0 magnitude earthquake sometime this year. A publication in the journal Science Advances says there is an 80 percent chance of such a quake hitting the state this year. That goes against an earlier study from Stanford this year, which said there was only a 37-percent chance.
