ALTUS, OK (KSWO) - The man accused of threatening a woman in the parking lot at the Walmart on Main Street has been arrested. Anthony Burns, 40, is accused of attempted armed robbery by knifepoint early Saturday afternoon.

The victim says that she was putting her groceries into her car when Burns approached her from behind and put her in a chokehold with the knife to her throat before throwing her to the ground.

Thankfully, a good Samaritan in a nearby vehicle saw the whole thing go down and jumped into action. When he confronted the suspect, Burns took off through the parking lot towards Atwoods. The woman was not hurt.

The Altus Police chief says the woman was by herself in the parking lot, and they believe the suspect targeted her. They say the woman did not know the suspect.

Burns is charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon. The Altus Office of Probation and Parole identified Burns from Walmart's surveillance video.
