SOUTHWEST OK (KSWO) –  A clerical error at the County Election Board delayed the results of a school bond election out of Elgin.

687 Elgin residents voted in favor of the $36.9-million school bond, giving the proposal a 60 percent majority – however, due to a clerical error, 64 absentee ballots have yet to be counted.

Depending on those 64 votes, the outcome of the vote could change entirely.

Those remaining votes will not be tallied until the Election Board meets Thursday, March 9 at 11 am.

Meanwhile, elections out of Jackson County were uninterrupted, with voters nearly unanimously approving two propositions to consolidate the Olustee and Eldorado school districts.
