Clerical error postpones Elgin school bond vote results

ELGIN, OK (KSWO)- A clerical error by the County Election Board has residents of the Elgin Public School district still waiting for results from yesterday's school bond vote.

The Comanche County Election Board has to file specific paperwork at least 48 hours before any special election. They realized yesterday they had not done that so they filed it and now must wait until Thursday at 11:00 a.m. before counting 64 absentee ballots that were cast.

As of right now, the $36.9 million bond has 62-percent of the vote. It needs at least 60-percent to pass.  If 48 of the 64 absentee ballots are against, the bond it will fail.

You can count on 7News to keep you updated as the results come in tomorrow morning.
