LAWTON, Ok (KSWO) -

The woman accused of setting a vacant building on fire Tuesday morning in Lawton says God wanted her to stay warm.

Police responded to the building early Tuesday morning at Sheridan and D Avenue. When they arrived they found Amanda Kleinschmidt who let them into the building. Officers said she told them that God let her into the building to get out of the cold.

She said after she was inside she filled a 55-gallon drum with multiple items and set it on fire.

The Assistant Fire Marshal declined to press charges for the fire but Kleinschmidt was booked into the Lawton City Jail on a complain of breaking and entering.
