OHP: DUI reason for motorcycle accident

JEFFERSON COUNTY, OK (KSWO) - A Marlow man was taken to the hospital after an accident on his motorcycle on U.S. 81 in Jefferson County.

It happened Saturday night around 8:30 about 5 miles north of Waurika. Oklahoma Highway Patrol says John Paxson was driving south on 81, when he drove over some uneven pavement. The motorcycle landed on its side, and slid with Paxson still on it. OHP says Paxson was trying to leave the scene of the accident before help got there.

OHP says the cause of the accident was alcohol, and that Paxson's ability was impaired. Paxson sustained head, neck and external injuries.
