WASHINGTON, D.C. (KSWO) - Some southwest Oklahoma community, business and military leaders will be in the nation's capital today as part of the Lawton-Fort Sill Chamber of Commerce's annual "DC Fly-in" event.
Lawton City Manager Jerry Ihler, as well as representatives from Fort Sill and Cameron University, are among those attending.
This evening they will meet with Senators Jim Inhofe and James Lankford.
Tomorrow, they'll have breakfast with Inhofe and later meet with Army leaders, including the Chief of Staff.
The chamber says the messages they'll be communicating are growing the Army, budget concerns, the federal hiring freeze and administrative appointments.
