Grassfire breaks out between Medicine Park and Elgin

COMANCHE COUNTY, OK (KSWO)- Two grass fires between Medicine Park and Elgin burned 12 acres before they were contained.

The blaze sparked between mile marker 49 and 50 on I-44 around 8:45 this morning.

Wichita Mountains Estate was the first on scene. Medicine Park, Fletcher, Elgin, and Comanche Nation fire all assisted. officials say Comanche County's three road graders were a huge help in getting the fire out quickly.

The fire took two hours to put out. There is no known cause at this time.
